IIT Kanpur B.Cyber Admission 2026 shortlist released on iitk.ac.in; Entrance Examination on July 5
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has released the list of shortlisted candidates for the Bachelor of Cyber Security (B.Cyber) course for the academic session 2026. Candidates applying for the course can check if they have been shortlisted by visiting the official website iitk.ac.in and searching for the application number.According to the college, 120 candidates have been shortlisted for the entrance exam.IIT Kanpur has informed that the shortlisted candidates will receive a confirmation email along with a confirmation form before the end of June 29, 2026.Candidates whose names appear in the shortlist but have not received the email can contact the agency by writing to office_is@iitk.ac.in.The application process for the B.Cyber project begins on June 15 and ends on June 25, 2026. The shortlist will be announced on June 29, 2026.
Entrance Exam Timetable
The B.Cyber entrance exam will be held on July 5, 2026 at IIT Kanpur campus.Candidates must report to the examination room before 9:00 am. Admission to the exam center will close at 9:45am and no candidates will be allowed entry after this time.Instructions and login procedures will be completed by 10:00 am, while the entrance exam will be conducted from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.The college will announce the entrance exam results on July 8, 2026. The selected candidates must report to IIT Kanpur on July 21, 2026 to complete the admission process.
Important guidelines for candidates
Candidates must report to the examination center on time with a valid photo ID. They will also need to sign a consent form before the assessment begins.The institute has directed candidates to use only the computer systems, login credentials and approved tools provided during the examination. They must remain at their designated workstations throughout the test and notify the proctor immediately if they experience any technical issues.Use of unauthorized devices, internet access, email services, messaging applications or any external resources is strictly prohibited. Candidates must also avoid communicating with other participants, sharing challenge content, or attempting to manipulate the scoring system. Any violation of the rules will result in immediate disqualification.
Entrance Examination Syllabus
The B.Cyber entrance exam will be conducted in the form of a hackathon and will cover the following topics:
- cryptography
- network security
- API security
- network security
- reverse engineering
- Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)
The assessment is designed to assess candidates’ analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, curiosity and cybersecurity abilities, the institute said. The exam will be conducted on a sanitized desktop system under the supervision of experts from IIT Kanpur.Direct link to download here.
