The group has its own charitable foundation that helps those in need, and donations also come from the foundation. The charity will use the funds to fund around 9,000 meals.Speaking about the donation, Rachel Biggs, the organization’s CEO, said, “We received an email saying, ‘This is not a scam, please contact the foundation.'” They said: “We’re going to donate £20,000 to you.” It’s an incredible amount of money that will make such a difference and replenish our empty shelves. ” Biggs also revealed that this is one of the largest donations a celebrity has ever given them, and they are extremely grateful for it.She further shared: “What’s great for us [is] It helps create awareness and what Metallica are doing is mobilizing their fans, mobilizing the local community. When this donation hits our bank account, we will be able to order in bulk and replenish our inventory, knowing we will have the support of our community for the rest of the year. ” She estimates their administrative costs will be as high as £700,000 this year.Two weeks before the donation, the charity posted information online about funding shortages and “empty shelves” and issued a public appeal for donations to provide meals to those in need as supplies they needed were running out.
