The film, which is backed by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios, is expected to be one of the biggest global premieres in the post-pandemic era, according to early predictions from Deadline.If the predictions hold, “Brand New Day” will be Sony Pictures’ second-biggest global debut ever, behind only “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which opened globally in 2021 and grossed $600.5 million. It would also surpass the previous record held by 2007’s “Spider-Man 3,” which opened with $381.6 million on its first day.

“Brand New Day” is on track to have the world’s third-biggest opening among post-pandemic releases, behind “Spider-Man: No Way Home” ($600.5 million) and “Zootopia 2” ($560.3 million). It is also expected to debut ahead of “Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness” ($452 million), “Deadpool and Wolverine” ($444.7 million), “Avatar: Waterways” ($441.7 million) and the Chinese animated blockbuster “Nezha 2” ($431.2 million).

The service began its global rollout on Wednesday in several key regions, including Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, South Korea, Spain and the United Kingdom. The film opens in Australia, India and Saudi Arabia on Thursday, July 30, and in Japan on Friday, July 31.In North America, previews will begin on Thursday, July 30, with an exclusive screening on Wednesday evening.
