Emmy Award-winning host and executive producer John Oliver Landed a role on the long-running American soap opera General Hospital. Months after launching a humorous campaign to get a spot on the show, his wish has officially come true, with his appearance confirmed to air in July.

John Oliver confirmed on the June 28 episode of the show that he will be appearing on General Hospital. After the announcement, he released a statement, which read: “General Hospital has been everything I could have hoped for. It’s an honor to be a small stain in the history of this outstanding show.”The comedian will star in three episodes of “General Hospital,” which will air July 2, 3 and 6 on ABC.Oliver landed the three-episode role after publicly campaigning for a role on the show in March, according to People magazine, citing a press release. “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini said in a press release, “When John Oliver publicly challenged himself and said he wanted to appear on a soap opera, we didn’t hesitate.
