Citing the success of “Saiyara” as an example, the actor said the romantic drama won over the audience purely through music, romance and acting.In an interview with IANS, Akshay There is a growing belief that only event films and multi-starrers can succeed in theatres, a sentiment echoed by actor R Madhavan recently.

Responding to the controversy, Akshay said the success of a film ultimately depends on its destiny.“If that’s the fate of this movie, it’s going to be successful no matter what,” he said.The actor then pointed to the newcomer Seiyara Ahan Pandey and Anit Padaproving that content can be successful without a carefully planned promotion.

Recalling the film, Akshay asked director Ahmed Khan, who was present at the time, to remind him of the film’s title.“Recently, a movie came out about a new boy and a new girl. What was that movie?” he asked.After Ahmed Khan replied “Saiyaara”, Akshay continued, “Yes, Saiyaara. What are the incidents of this movie? I want to ask, what are the incidents of this movie? There are no incidents. Just its songs worked, the romance of the movie also worked. It was a hit. Boys and girls behaved well and they are lucky that the movie worked.”
