Cricket Ireland has confirmed that the two T20Is against India will start at 1:30 pm local time (6:00 pm IST), an hour earlier than the usual kick-off time for India’s evening T20 international. The decision was taken to reduce a scheduling conflict with India’s crucial Women’s T20 World Cup clash against Australia on June 28.

The Women’s World Cup match influenced the scheduling decision

Indian women, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, are set to face Australia in a Women’s T20 World Cup clash at Lord’s on Sunday. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm IST, which would have completely overlapped with the second men’s T20I between India and Ireland if the traditional start time had been maintained. To address the issue, Cricket Ireland has advanced the start of both T20Is by an hour, ensuring fans can follow a larger portion of both matches.

The broadcasters agreed to the revised timing

According to Cricbuzz, Cricket Ireland, the organizers of the games, scheduled for Friday (June 26) and Sunday (June 28), are understood to have discussed the matter with Indian media partner Sony Sports. In an ideal scenario, the broadcaster would prefer a 7 pm IST start for India’s T20Is, but Sony Sports is believed to have agreed to the revised timing to reduce the clash, albeit only partially.
