Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Bio-Flex Delivery Begins in India: Performance, Specifications & More

Maruti Suzuki India has begun deliveries to customers of the Wagon R Bio-Flex, India’s first fuel-efficient vehicle. The first batch of Wagon R Bio-Flex deliveries were presented at the Indian Sugar and Bio-energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) in New Delhi. This model could go hand-in-hand with ethanol fuel and reach a point where the government is pushing for the introduction of ethanol-based fuel to reduce emissions and reduce dependence on conventional fuels. The launch marks the expansion of alternative fuel technology along with electric vehicles.The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R The Bio-Flex is priced at Rs 7.24 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 86,000 cheaper than the outgoing Wagon R ZXi+ MT. The flex-fuel hatchback is available only to buyers. If we talk about the engine, it has a 1.2-liter K12N 1.2-liter 4 cylinder petrol engine that produces 91hp and 114Nm, mated to a five-speed gearbox. Emission figures are the same as the next E20 model, and Maruti says the Bio-Flex model receives hardware and software updates to support the blending of ethanol up to E85. This includes updated fuel injectors, a new fuel pump, updated fuel lines, a redesigned ECU and an ethanol sensor.The company has not revealed fuel consumption figures for the Wagon R Bio-Flex. In comparison, the standard Wagon R with the same engine delivers 23.56kpl with manual transmission and 24.43kpl with AMT.Smartly, the WagonR Bio-Flex gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, manual AC, semi-digital cluster, all power windows, rear AC vents, fog lights, rear parking sensors, rear wiper and washer, six airbags, ABS, ESP and more.
