New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the online challenge window for NEET UG provisional answer keys on June 28, 2026 at 11:50 pm.Candidates appearing for the entrance medical re-examination must raise objections before the deadline and pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 200 per question.Critical timelines and high stakesThe central agency expedited the re-examination process to resolve differences in previous assessment results, involving more than 2 million registered candidates across the country.The Answer Key Challenge window opened on June 25, 2026, providing candidates with a limited time of 72 hours to verify their respective test manual sets.

Fee refund and review rulesThe NTA has confirmed that if its panel of subject matter experts deems the objection valid, the processing fee of Rs 200 will be refunded to the registered bank account of the candidate.To facilitate refunds, a dedicated portal is available on the official NTA website where candidates can verify or update their bank account details before June 30, 2026.To submit a valid challenge, candidates must upload authentic supporting documents, preferably from NCERT textbooks or other recognized academic publications.What happens next?After the challenge window closes, the NTA will complete the evaluation of the submitted objection and complete the scanning and verification of individual Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) forms.A revised final answer will be posted later. This final answer will be binding and will serve as the sole basis for calculating marks, preparing merit rankings and fixing institutional cutoffs before the NEET UG 2026 results are declared next month.
