“I decided to go to Nice with my partner and a few friends to spend a few days in Nice and enjoy the sunshine. I didn’t have work this week and I managed to clear out my diary and I thought, this is awesome,” Rylan told Willis on the show. He went on to recount his experience trying to get home that morning, explaining the trouble he encountered at the airport.“I flew back early this morning, so I went to the airport and I was like, ‘No.’ I was like, ‘Sorry?'” he recalled, describing the moment his plan fell apart.Rylan details the difficult decision-making process that followed. “One time I had an eight-hour train ride, which would still make me late for work, but I could go home today. At the end of the day I thought, ‘You know what, you’ve done very well for yourself, I’m just going to stay another day,'” he said.

Mark Goodier was brought in at the last minute to replace Ryland as host of the film and TV quiz show Couch Potato. A BBC representative confirmed the situation on social media, writing: “Rylan is stuck in a nice place…”Rylan responded to the post in the comments section with a self-deprecating quip. “So unprofessional,” he wrote, taking the situation in stride.
