Changes to the Tapestry in House of the Dragon Season 3
In addition to the music, the opening credits, which depict the Targaryen family’s history through an animated tapestry, now have alternate endings. The tapestry now no longer ends with an image of the Iron Throne, but with a Targaryen-style dragon sigil featuring a black dragon on a red background. This symbol does not represent the traditional Targaryen flag, which features a red dragon on a black background. Instead, the black dragon on red is associated with House Blackfyre, a branch of House Targaryen that emerged decades after the events depicted in House of Dragons.Viewers noticed that the tapestry was also torn, representing the fall of House Targaryen, its dynasty, and the dragons.New episodes of House of the Dragon Season 3 will air every Monday until August 9.
