Looking back on the experience, Manganiello describes it as both extremely difficult and ultimately rewarding. “I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy, but also my biggest risk,” he told the outlet, describing the seven-year ordeal.The actor went on to explain how the process of documenting his experiences through writing has contributed to his healing and perspective. “The process of writing this book gave me the gift of insight and helped me see that my pain was a cocoon from which I would be forever changed,” he said. He said he hopes sharing his journey can benefit others facing health challenges. “I hope that what I experienced on this journey gives readers hope that no matter what they are going through, answers and healing may be found on the other side,” he continued.
